The Lab Technician is responsible for performing Quality Control tests as required by sampling instructions to evaluate all finished products and raw materials. The Lab Technician will perform analyses required for raw material qualification, in‑process and finished Acrylamide, and waste materials. Calibrate and maintain laboratory instrumentation as necessary. Ensure safe operation of the laboratory and its equipment.
Responsibilities
Analyses of in‑process and finished Acrylamide and raw materials.
Perform the final quality control analysis of finished products to ensure that finished product meets specifications before shipment.
Classification and correct handling of hazardous and non‑hazardous wastes.
Calibration and routine maintenance of lab equipment.
Complete daily, weekly and monthly production reporting requirements.
Maintain a clean and safe work area.
Ensure safe operation of the laboratory and its equipment.
Special analysis and/or project support as directed by management.
Department specific: other duties as assigned with or without accommodation.
Participate in continuous improvement programs.
Attend safety meetings and required training.
Qualifications Education:
High school diploma or equivalent – required.
Experience:
Previous laboratory experience – preferred.
Knowledge, skills, abilities:
Knowledge of analytical chemistry.
Familiarity with all MS Office software applications.
Above average arithmetic, logical, and organizational skills.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work well with others in a team environment with minimum supervision.
Must meet all performance requirements of a Lab Technician.
Specific training requirements are outlined in the Employee Training Matrix.
Must be able to effectively communicate both orally and in writing utilizing the English language.
