As a Paramedic, you will provide immediate medical treatment to patients presenting with various critical injuries, illnesses and concerns within the Main, Medina, Avon and Twinsburg Cleveland Clinic locations. In this role, fast thinking and processing are essential, as every second counts in an emergency. Your tireless efforts help improve outcomes and make a lasting difference in the lives of patients, their families and your fellow caregivers.

Schedule A caregiver in this position works rotating days/nights from 6:30 AM – 6:30 PM or 6:30 PM – 6:30 AM, with every other weekend and holiday requirements.

Responsibilities

Provide immediate medical treatment to critically ill or injured patients throughout the interfacility or scene transport process.

Navigate an ambulance to respond to emergency calls.

Assess the nature and extent of the illness or injury, administer appropriate emergency medical care, communicate with medical personnel at the hospital, report and record observations, and follow directives until hand‑off to hospital staff.

Minimum Qualifications

Completion of an accredited EMS‑Paramedic Training Program.

Current licensure as an Emergency Medical Technician‑Paramedic (EMTP) in Ohio.

Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA).

Three years of experience as an EMT‑P in a critical care setting such as flight or surface transport, or in‑hospital experience.

Current Ohio valid driver’s license and passport.

International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) certification and flight paramedic certification within two years of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in a larger metropolitan area.

Experience in an emergency department or critical care transport.

Pay Range Minimum hourly: $22.85 Maximum hourly: $34.85

The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be determined after taking into consideration factors such as the candidate’s work history, experience, skill set and education. The pay range displayed does not include any applicable pay practices such as shift differentials, overtime, etc., and does not include the value of Cleveland Clinic’s benefits package.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to perform in limited quarters, ground and air transport modes, handling all types of terrain and weather conditions. Frequent bending, twisting, climbing steps or ladders, stooping, kneeling and crouching.

Medium work – exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for light work.
