RN Surgery - Pediatric OR

Cleveland Clinic’s staff is specially certified by the American Board of Surgery to treat a variety of pediatric conditions throughout infancy and childhood. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the surgical team to deliver exceptional patient care from the initial introduction to the final send‑off. All nurses entering an OR specialty unit participate in a comprehensive orientation program to ensure a smooth transition into the surgical environment. Whether you are an experienced RN or a new graduate, you will have your call and schedules assigned after a 6‑month orientation from Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. The system also provides many professional development resources, including further education and online/in‑person courses. Responsibilities
Provide nursing care in an operative setting to patients undergoing surgical or invasive procedures. Perform scrub and circulating functions. Prepare the OR, surgical instruments, and equipment for use. Minimum Qualifications
Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross One year of RN experience or completion of Cleveland Clinic’s Perioperative Residency Program Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor of science in nursing (BSN). Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross. If you do not hold this certification, you must obtain it within six months of hire. Physical Requirements
Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye‑hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Medium work – exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for light work. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 25 pounds and ability to push, pull, and navigate supply carts weighing > than 75 pounds periodically. Personal Protective Equipment
Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures. Pay Range
Minimum hourly: $33.50 Maximum hourly: $53.60 The pay range displayed reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate’s work history, experience, skill set and education. The pay range does not include any applicable pay practices (e.g., shift differentials, overtime, etc.) and does not include the value of Cleveland Clinic’s benefits package (e.g., healthcare, dental and vision benefits, retirement savings account contributions, etc.).
