Patient Access Scheduler, BHMG Cardiology Scheduling
Full-time, 8:30 A‑5 P, 8 hours a day
Location : Baptist Health, South Florida (Miami‑Dade, Monroe, Broward, Palm Beach).
Overview : Baptist Health’s patient access scheduler is responsible for managing patient appointments (diagnostic, surgical, therapy, physician office visits, and other procedures). The role collects and verifies demographic and insurance information, registers patients, and enters data into the scheduling system. The incumbent works in a call‑center type environment, meeting individual quality metrics, and practices the Baptist Health philosophy of service excellence.
Responsibilities :
Schedule patient appointments (diagnostic, surgical, therapy, physician office visits, other procedures).
Obtain and verify demographic and insurance information.
Register patients and enter data into the scheduling system.
Meet individual quality metrics in a call‑center environment.
Provide professional, compassionate, friendly service to all patients, families, employees, physicians and community members.
Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent; GED, training, or experience acceptable.
Complete and pass the Patient Access training course.
Ability to work in a high‑volume, fast‑paced environment.
Basic mathematical calculation skills.
Detail oriented, organized, team player, compassionate, excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
Basic knowledge of medical and insurance terminology (desired).
Experience with computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, EMR applications) and accurate typing skills.
Knowledge of regulatory guidelines (HIPAA, AHCA, EMTALA, Medicare coverage structure, medical necessity compliance).
Bilingual in English and Spanish/Creole (desired).
Minimum Required Experience : Less than 1 year.
