Overview
Position Overview: The Clinical Therapist Coordinator is responsible for providing high-quality, evidence-based mental health services to individuals, families, and groups. This role involves conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and delivering psychotherapy interventions to support patient well-being. The Clinical Therapist Coordinator collaborates with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, primary care providers, case managers, and social workers, to ensure integrated and patient-centered care. The Clinical Therapist Coordinator is responsible for providing shift oversight, coordination, and clinical supervision for service staff and services provided through the FHC. This is a day shift position working Sunday - Tuesday with the opportunity to pick up additional coverage based on staffing.
Responsibilities
Coordinate day-to-day and shift operations, including staffing, resource allocation, and service readiness.
Conduct comprehensive intake assessments and formulate initial diagnoses and diagnostic evaluations.
Supervise triage of incoming telephone and in-person encounters, ensuring appropriate classification of routine, urgent, and emergent cases.
Develop individualized treatment plans based on evidence-based practices and patient needs.
Review and approve clinical care plans and service dispositions, ensuring alignment with ethical standards, best practices, and patient safety.
Provide individual, group, and family therapy using appropriate therapeutic modalities (CBT, DBT, trauma-informed care, etc.).
Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
Maintain effective communication with internal teams and external partners (e.g., schools, hospitals, justice system, community agencies) to support coordinated, high-quality care.
Educate patients and families about mental health conditions, coping strategies, and available resources.
Participate in crisis intervention and risk assessment for patients experiencing acute distress.
Engage in professional development and training to meet licensure and organizational requirements.
Collaborate with community members to ensure quality patient care.
Adhere to all confidentiality, HIPAA, and ethical guidelines for clinical practice.
Maintain all credentialing and privileging requirements.
Coordinate and provide departmental training for team members.
Other duties as assigned.
Work-related experience
Minimum of 1-3 years of clinical experience
Experience in providing oversight of clinical teams in a behavioral health setting.
Familiar with Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders.
Experience working with diverse populations, including individuals with complex behavioral health needs.
Familiarity with crisis intervention, trauma-informed care, or chronic disease management preferred.
Understand HIPAA laws and protocols
Education, certification, and licensure Education: Master of Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or Marriage and Family Therapy from an accredited institution.
Certification: None
Licensure: Active independent licensure in the state of Indiana as a LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, or LCAC.
Skills
Strong leadership and team coordination skills with the ability to mentor and develop clinical staff.
Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
Proficiency in evidence-based therapeutic modalities such as CBT, DBT, ACT, and motivational interviewing.
Ability to build rapport with diverse populations and foster a therapeutic alliance.
Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR).
Commitment to ethical and culturally competent care.
