Baylor Scott & White Health . Location: Baylor University Medical Center (BUMC) – Downtown Dallas, Texas. Unit: Computed Tomography (CT) Scanner. Shift: FT/Nights (Thu-Sun, 9:30 PM – 7:00 AM). On Call: No mandatory call; all voluntary (within 60-minute radius). Job Summary
The CT Technologist, under general supervision of a Radiologist, performs computed tomography (CT) procedures on ambulatory and hospital patients as requested by a physician or other licensed provider for the diagnosis of disease and injury in accordance with established protocols. Essential Functions
Perform high-quality CT procedures according to exam protocol in a timely manner; maintain production and quality of imaging procedures by following established standards and procedures. Demonstrate understanding of radiation dose reference levels, dose monitoring, and steps if the estimated dose exceeds reference levels (including patient follow-up when applicable). Demonstrate and understand proper use of iSTAT point-of-care testing for obtaining creatinine levels. Apply AIDET when communicating with patients to identify service requirements, ensure correct exam, establish rapport, and inform patients and families about the test. Prepare patient and area for procedure by positioning the patient, adjusting immobilization devices, moving equipment into position, and setting exposure factors. Ensure safety by adhering to infection-control, drug and radiation policies; use sterile techniques for invasive procedures; maintain hand hygiene. Maintain equipment and work area to meet quality and cleanliness standards; collaborate with engineers and physicists to optimize equipment performance. Report issues to management or appropriate department; assist in maintaining supplies inventory; screen individuals entering the department per approved policies. Obtain, verify and maintain relevant documentation (requisition/chart, patient history, pregnancy status, shielding precautions, consent forms, policies). Maintain medical imaging records in the appropriate system in compliance with department policies and standards for timely interpretation. Keywords for Success

Provide services in a timely, accurate, and cost-efficient manner in compliance with System and regulatory standards. Work independently with minimal oversight; maintain calm, helpful attitude under stress; take steps to resolve issues. Administer first aid and use the emergency cart as needed. Enhance customer satisfaction by limiting wait times, providing courteous service, maintaining professionalism, and reviewing patient satisfaction scores. Maintain current knowledge and continued education for department age groups: newborn, pediatric, young adult, adult, and geriatric. Education : Grad of an Accredited Program Experience : CT Tech experience preferred, not required Certification/Licensing/Registration : BLS within 30 days of hire/transfer Must be certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Computed Tomography (CT) Licensed by the State of Texas Medical Board as Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT)
