Nurse 1 (Registered Nurse, RN)
to deliver medical services to youth at the Indian River Juvenile Correctional Facility. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with a solid nursing background and a passion to habilitate youth. Responsibilities
Provide professional nursing care to youth; observe, assess, and record symptoms, reactions, and progress of clinic out-patients. Make nursing rounds; take and record initials; prepare and administer prescribed medications and ordered treatment plans. Monitor restrained patients (lockups, detention, isolated) on a timely basis (every 15 minutes). Provide immediate medical attention to emergencies (first aid, CPR, transport to hospital emergency, physician contact). Assist physicians in evaluation, treatment and care plans; assist with physical examinations; collect and test specimens; administer vaccinations and medical injections; schedule doctor appointments; arrange out‑patient clinical appointments with specialists. Prepare examination room; stock supplies; sterilize equipment. Chart and record all medications, treatments, and pertinent medical information; complete required reports (incident, accident); admit and/or discharge patients; instruct patients regarding health maintenance and self‑administered medication; attend and participate in seminars, conferences and in‑service training. Maintain constant and exact inventory of all controlled drugs, medication, and medical equipment; order supplies; interview youth to obtain medical history. Qualifications
Requires current licensure as a registered professional nurse (RN) in the state of Ohio as issued by the Board of Nursing per Section 4723.03 of Ohio Revised Code. Preferred Qualifications
