Base pay:

Overview Knowledge Road is seeking a part-time Occupational Therapist to provide critical support to students in NYC Department of Education (DOE) schools. With a city‑wide shortage of related service providers, this role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on children with diverse needs through evidence‑based occupational therapy interventions.
Responsibilities
Provide direct, high‑quality occupational therapy services to students in individual and group settings as mandated by IESP/IEP.
Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess fine motor, visual‑motor, sensory‑processing, and ADL skills.
Develop and implement evidence‑based treatment plans utilizing sensory integration, motor learning principles, and adaptive strategies.
Design and modify classroom environments, learning materials, and assistive technology to promote participation and independence.
Collaborate with parents, teachers, related service providers, and school administrators to ensure coordinated care and optimal outcomes.
Provide consultation and training to staff on positioning, adaptive equipment use, and sensory strategies.
Maintain meticulous, timely documentation of all services, progress, and outcomes in compliance with DOE regulations.
Actively participate in IESP/IEP meetings, offering evidence‑based recommendations.
Qualifications
Current NYS license as an Occupational Therapist in good standing.
NBCOT registration.
1–2 years of experience in a school‑based or pediatric setting.
Proficiency with electronic documentation systems and teletherapy platforms.
NYC DOE fingerprinting and vendor status required or willingness to obtain prior to start.
Schedule & Location Part‑time, school‑day or after‑school position aligned with the NYC DOE calendar. Services will be provided on‑site at one or more schools or at the child’s home in Manhattan. Typical caseload: ~5–15 hours/week in school‑day blocks, driven by IESP/IEP mandates.
Compensation $75/hr (1099).
