Overview
Location: Methodist Physicians Clinic - North Streams Address: 4932 S 202nd Ave - Omaha, NE Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 10am - 10pm, rotating weekends 10am - 6pm North Streams Clinic location to open early January 2026 - all hired staff will train at other clinic locations until clinic opens Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Urgent Care works at an Urgent Care Clinic and works evenings and weekends. Assists physicians by reviewing records, preparing patients/exam rooms, and handling prescription renewals/inquiries. Responsibilities
Medical Home management Document all lab, procedures, and appointments on tracking forms Complete tracking forms and follow up on missed appointments and procedures Assist Health Coaches by working patient lists and scheduling appointments as directed Provide patient and family education as directed by the provider and recommend appropriate community resources Educate/instruct patients according to provider direction Perform telephone triage and report patient condition to the provider; advise patient per provider instructions Receive and return patient calls within appropriate timeframes based on medical priority Accurately record and report patient condition according to department policy Maintain clean and organized work areas and equipment Handle prescription renewals/inquiries and relay information to pharmacy Provide age-appropriate care as outlined in Age Specific Criteria Floor
Prepare exam rooms and equipment for treatment Prepare patient for provider exam including reviewing medical records, weighing, vitals, medication reconciliation Assist providers to facilitate patient treatment and obtain tests, lab work, and medical records Dispense medications as directed and educate patients/families on proper use Perform phlebotomy with proper labeling and document quality control Ensure accuracy of order entry and documentation Phone
Answer and route phone calls per protocol Return messages per protocol Provide test results per protocol Complete pharmacy requests accurately Job Requirements
Education
High School diploma or GED required Graduation from accredited LPN program required Experience
Previous LPN/medical experience preferred License/Certifications
LPN license required Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS strongly preferred at time of hire; required within 3 months of hire Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures Knowledge of medications and ability to recognize diseases Time management and prioritization Computer literacy and accurate data entry Compassionate patient care and effective communication Ability to listen, problem-solve, and adapt to changes Ability to learn and navigate computer systems with patient information Strong verbal communication Ability to follow written and verbal instructions Physical Requirements
