Responsibilities / Accountabilities

The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) - Journey Traveler must be able to travel nationwide for 13 week assignments. The role provides flexibility to travel the country and work in various settings. On assignment the SLP organizes and provides speech-language services to facilitate rehabilitation. They direct patient participation in selected tasks to restore, reinforce, and enhance performance, and facilitate the learning of skills essential for communication and swallowing to diminish or remediate disorders. They promote a safe environment and ensure quality service within the Code of Ethics. Supervise CFYs, temporary licensees, students, and support personnel as applicable. Deliver rehab services effectively, adhere to plans of care, maintain schedules, and document services timely. Attend patient care and related meetings; make referrals to other disciplines as needed. Consult with the rehabilitation team to select appropriate therapeutic regimens. Adapt plans of care to individual patient needs. Promote safety and manage equipment and supplies; report repairs as needed. Provide compassionate service to residents and families. Required Screen, examine, and evaluate patients; establish diagnoses and treatment plans; document care. Develop goals with patients and caregivers; implement treatments in areas such as cognitive-communication, speech intelligibility, oral motor skills, swallowing disorders/dysphagia, perceptual abilities, orientation, memory, pragmatics, psychosocial expression, and functional communication. May perform FEES if specialized training permits. Coordinate adaptive communication devices and refer for hearing assessments if needed. Instruct patients in therapeutic activities; monitor progress and adjust plans as needed. Perform routine reexaminations and related duties. Qualifications: Master\'s degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Disorders, or a similarly titled field acceptable to ASHA. Salary range posted: USD $55.00 - $70.00 /Hr. Seniority level
