Instagram . Position Summary: We are seeking a Faculty Group Practice Clinical Histo Tech I (35) to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing tissue specimens for pathological examination. Job Responsibilities: Performs routine histologic procedures, including accessioning, grossing/wrapping specimens, embedding, and sectioning using hematoxylin and eosin. Performs special stains such as mucopolysaccharides, tissue fibers, pigments, infectious organisms (bacteria and fungi). Prepares slides and documents procedures. Assists with training on new laboratory equipment and maintains laboratory equipment. Prepares solutions for histological examination. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: An Associate's degree from an approved clinical laboratory technician program is required. A high school diploma may be accepted if accompanied by relevant experience and NYS licensure through the grandparenting pathway. Six months of experience in a histology lab and certification by the NYS Education Department as a Clinical Laboratory Technician or Certified Histological Technician are required. Preferred Qualifications: A BS/BA in Science is preferred; ASCP HT certification as a Histology Technician is also preferred. Qualified candidates must communicate effectively at all organizational levels.
