As a Paramedic, you will provide immediate medical treatment to patients with critical injuries, illnesses, and concerns. Fast thinking and processing are essential, as every second counts in an emergency. Your efforts help improve outcomes and make a lasting difference in patients’ lives, their families, and your colleagues. This position works nights from 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM. A successful caregiver in this role will: Provide patient care in the Emergency Department under RN supervision. Obtain and record vital signs. Perform EKGs, CPR, phlebotomy, and suctioning. Initiate cardiac monitoring, oxygen therapy, and saline locks. Notify the RN or physician of rhythm changes. Apply orthopaedic appliances and splints. Assist with equipment setup, chest tubes, gastric lavage, LP, etc. Assist with restraint and seclusion, and apply restraint devices. Transport patients and specimens. Assist with sterile procedures and maintain supplies and equipment. Administer fluids and medications. Minimum qualifications include: Completion of an accredited EMS-Paramedic Training Program. Current Ohio licensure as an Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic (EMTP). Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications through AHA. Clinical experience through an EMS Paramedic Training Program.
