Teaching Assistant Professor of Musicology The Department of Music at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking a Teaching Assistant Professor to focus on musical theater and popular music.

Position Summary Full-time, non-tenure-track, initial 3-year appointment with possibility of renewal.

Responsibilities

Teach three credit‑hour courses per semester (e.g., history and culture of musical theater, rock music, popular music).

Develop courses aligned with research interests and departmental mission.

Mentor undergraduate and graduate students.

Qualifications

Graduate degree in Musicology or a related field.

Ph.D. or equivalent preferred.

At least two years of university‑level teaching experience.

Pedagogical innovation in teaching musical theater and popular music.
