Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Develop skills and knowledge (critical thinking and analysis of data, devising specific aims, long-term project planning and experimental design) to become an independent scientist.
Design, execute, record laboratory experiments, and analyze data that may affect future patient care decisions.
Research, improve current methods, evaluate innovative techniques, conduct quality and reproducibility checks, and implement new knowledge.
Troubleshoot and correct erroneous results or equipment problems.
Discuss relevant experimental insights with faculty and provide recommendations and analysis.
Present research at laboratory meetings, journal clubs, seminars, and conferences, and develop skills to critically review data.
Draft, write, and edit scientific reports, papers, journal articles, abstracts, and grant proposals.
Assume progressively increasing responsibilities, including mentorship of research staff and fiscal administration.
Maintain current knowledge through continuing education, literature, and seminars, actively participate in intellectual discussions with PI and other faculty.
Attend required Cincinnati Children’s training sessions and ensure regulatory compliance with institutional policies.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
PhD/MD or equivalent.
