Overview
The University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) is seeking an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Helen and Arthur E. Johnson Beth-El College of Nursing and Health Sciences. This is a full-time, 9-month, on-campus, non-tenure-track appointment with 80% teaching and 20% service in the Department of Nursing. The position teaches in undergraduate programs and includes classroom, simulation, clinical, online teaching, advising, and professional service activities. The role may include teaching during the summer session for additional compensation. Salary Range : $62,000 – $65,887 per academic year. Compensation is commensurate with experience and qualifications. This position is exempt from FLSA overtime. Work Location : On-Site Equal Opportunity

Provide instruction to undergraduate students in the classroom, simulation learning center, online, and general clinical settings. Teaching in clinical settings may require 12-hour shifts, evenings, nights, or weekends. Engage in service activities within the department, college, UCCS, nursing profession, and the community. Maintain clinical and academic expertise. Schedule and select student learning experiences to achieve learning outcomes. Participate in curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation, using AACN Essentials. Attend meetings and activities that advance the mission and goals of the department and college. Perform other duties as determined by the Dean and Department Chair. Qualifications
Master of Science in Nursing from an accredited program. Active unencumbered license to practice as a registered nurse in Colorado, or ability to obtain by date of hire. Two (2) years of full-time (or equivalent) professional nursing clinical experience. Previous teaching experience in an undergraduate nursing program or adult learning environments is preferred. Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with clinical partners, colleagues, and students of varying skill levels (preferred). Experience with collaborative learning techniques and student-centered instruction (preferred). Experience with curriculum development and evaluation (preferred).
