This position supports Mercy's philosophy of patient centered care by providing compassionate and conscientious rehabilitation services to help patients improve their quality of life and functional capacity, under the direction of a Physical Therapist. Job Duties Promotes effective working relations and works effectively as part of a team inter- and intra-departmentally to facilitate the department's ability to meet its goals and objectives. Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment. Attends all required safety training and can describe his or her responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, and specific job-related hazards. Maintains and enhances personal knowledge as well as promoting professional standards in physical therapy. Completes all required paperwork following policies and procedures to ensure that documentation reflects care provided and the outcomes achieved as evidence in the clinical record. Coordinates patient care with other clinical team members ensuring optimal patient care and communication as evidenced in the clinical record. Under the supervision of a physical therapist provides physical therapy services to patients ensuring quality of care as evidenced in the clinical record. Department Specific Duties

Demonstrates ability to function independently. Demonstrates tolerance of home environment and diverse life style of patient/family. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

In addition to the technical and professional skills required to provide excellent Physical Therapy to patients, clinician must possess good interpersonal skills, ability to motivate, and strong written and communication skills. Professional Experience Experience required. Education N/A Licensure, Certification, Registration Current and valid driver's license, own transportation and automobile insurance. Iowa Dependent Adult Abuse/Iowa Child Abuse Mandatory Reporter training required. Employee must submit certification of completed training to Human Resources prior to start or transfer date. Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) in accordance with the American Heart Association required.
