Position Overview The Davey Tree Expert Company’s manufacturing mulch division seeks qualified candidates for Heavy Equipment Operators with or without a Class A CDL. Employees are key to producing high‑quality mulch and other wood products while delivering unmatched customer care. This position offers growth opportunities locally and nationally. Full‑time position with potential for overtime Competitive pay based on experience ($25-30 per hour) Excellent benefits package Industry‑related training Growth and advancement opportunities – promotions from within Job Duties
Operate heavy equipment, grinders and front‑end loaders Import and export equipment and mulch materials with semi‑trucks, roll‑off trucks and trailers Assist in producing mulch products for resale Learn operations of large grinding equipment Perform basic daily maintenance on equipment (training provided) Perform basic repairs as applicable to equipment Provide mechanical and welding services as needed Qualifications
Industry experience in heavy equipment and semi‑driving operations Valid Class A semi driver’s license with air‑brake endorsement (unrestricted preferred) Strong mechanical experience Strong welding experience Standard hours 7 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday–Friday with occasional weekend and night shifts as required Ability to work in all inclement weather conditions Able to lift and carry 50 lbs Additional Information
