Highly Experienced and Skilled Welder/Fabricator We're seeking a highly experienced and skilled Welder/Fabricator to join our defense manufacturing team. This is an opportunity to apply your mastery of welding and fabrication techniques on critical aerospace and defense projects that demand precision, quality, and expertise. What You'll Do Our Welder/Fabricators are responsible for fabricating and welding metal components to exact specifications for defense and aerospace applications. Your expertise will be essential in producing high-quality products that meet stringent military and industry standards.

Core Responsibilities

Perform advanced fabrication operations including forming, shaping, cutting, notching, and welding on medium to heavy fabrications

Execute high-quality MIG and TIG welds in multiple positions (1G through 6G) on various materials including carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum

Produce leak‑proof pipe joints with minimal reinforcement per ASME Section IX standards

Minimize distortion and warping through expert heat management techniques

Design and utilize custom fixtures to ensure product conformance

Conduct visual inspections to verify welds meet AWS and NAVSEA code requirements

Use precision measuring tools to mark and verify dimensions throughout fabrication

Train and mentor team members on advanced techniques

Produce conforming products with minimal supervision and repairs

What We're Looking For Required Qualifications

High school diploma or GED

US citizenship (required for defense work)

Demonstrated mastery in fabrication and welding with proven ability to layout, fitup, and produce conforming products

AWS D1.1 certification or ASME Section IX certification

Carbon steel MIG/TIG welding proficiency in 1G through 3G positions

Ability to pass written examination covering mathematics, blueprint reading, trigonometry, and AWS code definitions

Ability to pass practical MIG and TIG welding skills evaluation

Highly Desirable Skills

AWS D1.1 certification for sheet metal or structural fabrication

Carbon steel 6G welding capability (MIG/TIG)

Stainless steel welding experience (1G to 3G)

Aluminum welding with AWS B1.2 certification

ASME Section IX pipe welding certification

Experience with NAVSEA 278 or 1688 specifications

AWS 17.1 aerospace fabrication experience

AWS D1.3 sheet metal certification

Visual weld inspection skills per AWS and NAVSEA acceptance criteria

Strong communication skills for training and mentoring

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand and walk for entire 10-12 hour shifts

Capability to lift and carry materials up to 50 pounds

Extensive bending, stooping, kneeling, and crouching

Ability to work at various heights including ladders and scaffolding

Strong hand and arm strength for operating heavy tools

Fine motor control for precise welding operations

Ability to work in confined spaces when necessary

Capability to wear PPE including welding helmets, respirators, and safety harnesses for extended periods

Work Environment

Exposure to welding fumes, metal dust, and sparks (proper ventilation and safety equipment provided)

High noise levels from cutting and grinding operations

Temperature variations due to welding heat

Overhead cranes and material handling equipment

Work performed under strict aerospace and defense quality standards

Potential handling of materials for classified defense projects

Shift work and overtime may be required to meet contract deadlines
