The Role's Impact As a CNC Equipment Maintenance Specialist on second shift, you'll be the critical technical expert ensuring production continuity across a sophisticated manufacturing operation. Your deep CNC troubleshooting skills will directly impact the company's ability to serve major clients in the food processing industry. This isn't just maintaining equipment - you'll be diagnosing complex control system failures, aligning precision components, and solving problems that require both mechanical aptitude and advanced electronics knowledge.
What You'll Do
Diagnose and repair Fanuc, Allen-Bradley, and Siemens CNC control systems using advanced troubleshooting methodology including ladder logic analysis and servo diagnostics
Perform precision mechanical repairs including turret alignments on CNC lathes, spindle troubleshooting, ballscrew replacement, and axis calibration
Execute electrical troubleshooting across 480V, 270V, 120V, and 24V DC systems using schematics, multimeters, and systematic diagnostic approaches
Maintain and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems integral to CNC machine operation
Read and interpret PLC ladder logic to troubleshoot production equipment issues and implement operational improvements
Collaborate with programming team and production staff to minimize downtime and optimize machine performance
Participate in on‑call rotation to support weekend production needs
Document repairs and maintain detailed maintenance records for 2,000+ facility assets
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent with 74 accredited hours in Industrial Maintenance program, OR minimum 7+ years hands‑on CNC maintenance experience
Extensive experience troubleshooting and repairing Fanuc CNC controls (critical requirement)
Demonstrated expertise in CNC mechanical repairs: turret alignment, spindle diagnostics, servo motor troubleshooting, and precision component replacement
Proficiency reading electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics
Strong PLC troubleshooting skills with ability to read and modify ladder logic programs
Multicraft capabilities spanning electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
Experience using diagnostic tools including multimeters, oscilloscopes, and specialized CNC diagnostic software
Valid driver's license and availability for on‑call rotation (Friday‑Sunday)
Stable work history demonstrating long‑term commitment to previous employers
Preferred Qualifications
Associate's degree in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, or related field
Experience with Allen‑Bradley and Siemens PLC systems in addition to Fanuc
Background maintaining CNC equipment in discrete manufacturing or job shop environment with high asset count
Certification in CNC maintenance, Fanuc controls, or related technical credentials
Market‑competitive compensation
