Automation Controls Technician, Cell Tabless . What To Expect Tesla is seeking highly motivated Automation Controls Technicians to join the 4680 Battery Cell Team. This role involves installation, start-up, ramp-up, and ongoing support of automated manufacturing tools and equipment. The technician will work with engineering teams to improve equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and respond to machine breakdowns to ensure seamless production. What You'll Do Maintain work procedures for PLC troubleshooting, testing, and automated controls in collaboration with engineering teams. Assist in maintenance and troubleshooting of automated equipment to meet yield and availability targets. Troubleshoot and maintain control components such as PLCs, safety devices, HMIs, servo drives, and robots. Manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment. Operate equipment using software to analyze logs and troubleshoot issues. What You'll Bring At least 2 years of controls technician experience in high-volume manufacturing. Skills in troubleshooting electromechanical systems and wiring electrical cabinets. Proficiency in Siemens PLC, Fanuc robots, SCADA, and HMI systems like Ignition, WinCC, or Simatic. Basic knowledge of MS Excel, PowerPoint, PLM, and ERP systems. Strong English communication skills. Basic drafting skills in AutoCAD or EPLAN. Programming skills in C, C++, C#, Python, or VB are preferred for Beckhoff PLC. Physical Demands Ability to perform physically demanding work up to 12 hours daily. Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and reach for extended periods. Ability to carry up to 35 lbs., including stairs. Ability to climb ladders and maintain balance. Ability to identify issues using sight, touch, and hearing while wearing PPE.
