CAE Engineer – Global Automotive Manufacturer

A leading Global Automotive Manufacturer is seeking a

CAE Engineer

with

5–7 years of experience . The successful candidate will support the design and validation of vehicle body structures through advanced computer-aided engineering (CAE) methods.

This role involves performing

virtual crash simulations , interpreting complex results, and providing actionable design recommendations to ensure compliance with

global safety standards

(FMVSS, ECE, NCAP). The engineer will work cross-functionally with design, test, and manufacturing teams to achieve optimal structural performance, weight targets, and manufacturability—all while ensuring the highest levels of occupant protection.

Key Responsibilities

Perform

advanced crash simulations

and

structural safety analyses

using tools such as

LS-DYNA ,

HyperWorks , and

Abaqus .

Assess vehicle body structure performance under various

crash and safety load cases .

Interpret and analyze CAE results to identify potential design weaknesses and recommend data-driven improvements.

Collaborate with

body design, test, and manufacturing teams

to ensure designs meet structural integrity, safety, and manufacturability requirements.

Support the development of

lightweight structures

while maintaining or improving crashworthiness performance.

Correlate CAE results with

physical test data

to enhance model accuracy and predictive capability.

Ensure all safety designs and analyses comply with

global safety regulations and consumer test protocols

(FMVSS, ECE, NCAP, IIHS, etc.).

Contribute to continuous improvement of

CAE methodologies, templates, and best practices .

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree

in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.

5–7 years

of experience performing

crashworthiness and safety CAE analysis

in the automotive industry.

Proficient with

LS-DYNA ,

HyperWorks , and/or

Abaqus

(pre/post-processing and solver-level experience).

Strong understanding of

vehicle crash modes ,

energy management , and

structural load paths .

Familiarity with

global safety standards

(FMVSS, ECE, NCAP, IIHS).

Knowledge of

material behavior modeling ,

joining methods , and

manufacturing constraints .

Excellent analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.

Ability to manage multiple projects and meet program timing requirements in a fast-paced environment.

Experience with

model correlation ,

DOE studies , or

optimization techniques .

Exposure to

BIW design ,

composite materials , or

electric vehicle structures .

Familiarity with

data visualization and scripting tools

(Python, MATLAB, etc.) for process automation.
