Overview
Kaiser Aluminum Alexco located in Chandler Arizona is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to join our aluminum extrusion operation . The Maintenance Supervisor oversees the team of mechanical and electrical maintenance employees, ensuring that equipment operates efficiently, accurately, and safely. This is essential for ensuring that the customer receives a high-quality product in a timely manner, while also prioritizing the safety and well-being of the workforce.
Responsibilities
Supervises all Maintenance employees; schedules/administers time & attendance, corrective actions, training initiatives, and employee coaching/development.
Lead and as needed, work alongside maintenance personnel in the installation, maintenance and repair of electrical/mechanical systems, ensuring work is completed efficiently, accurately and on schedule.
Provide preventative and scheduled maintenance when necessary.
Check the status of maintenance performed.
Document maintenance performed.
Takes ownership of safety processes; performs maintenance safety program audits (Lockout/Tagout, Confined Space, Fall Protection, PPE, mobile equipment, etc.).
Provide necessary inspections on equipment etc.
Emergency Response Representative.
Provide necessary training for Maintenance personnel.
Provide necessary information during internal and external audits.
Report on maintenance issues and maintenance downtime equipment for weekly maintenance, safety, production, & engineering meetings.
Check necessary maintenance supplies inventory and order supplies, as necessary.
Identifies, assists, and resolves equipment issues through shop floor problem solving, collaboration with engineering, and ongoing employee training.
Use of our CMMS System (COGZ) to enter Service Requests, manage Work Orders, and to identify spare parts in our inventory system.
Schedules, monitors, and manages (through CMMS/COGZ) all maintenance and repair work, driving continuous improvement of maintenance practices and work habits.
Enters Service Requests, writes follow-up work orders from inspections and PMs. Monitors and improves PM effectiveness.
Prepare purchase requisitions utilizing Maximo software.
Perform other duties as needed.
Arrange for the external calibration for the thermocouples.
Comply with OSHA and EPA requirements.
Perform job assessments, as necessary.
Process Owner for quality documents assigned.
Follow applicable Environmental, Quality, & Safety documents, notify manager immediately if not correct.
Understand area goals (as applicable).
Qualifications
A minimum of five to seven (5-7) years of relevant work experience and two to three (2-3) years of prior leadership or supervisor experience
Previous experience in industrial PLC electrical training, hydraulics, pneumatics and general building electrical
Basic computer skills: email, Microsoft office suite, ladder logic, etc.
Industrial electrical AC/DC troubleshooting skills, including ability to utilize electrical instrumentation
Ability to read and interpret electrical, hydraulic and mechanical schematics.
Experience with preventative/planned maintenance processes and procedures and the ability to develop procedures and schedules
