Sr. Mechanical Engineer : Popli Architecture + Engineering & LS, DPC dba Popli Design Group (Penfield, NY) seeks a
Sr. Mechanical Engineer
to perform engineering evaluations and analyses, field inspections, design drawings, technical specifications, and cost estimation for engineering and facilities projects. Assist upper-level management as a technical expert and provide on-site engineering support for projects during the construction phase including, but not limited to, owner change order requests, representation at construction project meetings, generation of meeting minutes, field coordination when unforeseen circumstances arise as well as construction schedule review. Respond to construction related RFI’s and submittals. Support commissioning efforts, oversee performance testing, test, and balance service witness, and generate as-built drawings. Complete O&M manual reviews. Responsibilities and activities Perform engineering evaluations and analyses, field inspections, design drawings, technical specifications, and cost estimation for engineering and facilities projects. Assist upper-level management as a technical expert and provide on-site engineering support during construction. Handle owner change order requests, participate in construction project meetings, and generate meeting minutes. Coordinate field activities when unforeseen circumstances arise and review construction schedules. Respond to RFI’s and submittals; support commissioning efforts and oversee performance testing. Witness testing and balancing services and generate as-built drawings. Review O&M manuals. Qualifications Requirements: Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. 6 months of engineering experience including: creating install-friendly layouts, applying structured problem-solving and root cause analysis, leading issue resolution planning, implementing continuous improvement practices (including Lean and Kaizen), documenting system lifecycle processes, using workflow mapping to optimize design and coordination, and working collaboratively within cross-functional teams and with QA/QC personnel to ensure quality standards and project success.
