Leidos Electronics Manufacturing is seeking a talented Quality Engineer. Leidos provides engineering, scientific and IT solutions across defense, space, cyber and commercial fields. The role involves hardware and systems for high energy weapons, launchers, Hypersonics, and target surrogates for DoD customers. Primary Responsibilities
Support mechanical and electronics manufacturing including SMT and soldering of PCBA’s and assembly integration and testing for aerospace and defense manufacturing. Perform program quality planning, analyze program QA requirements, develop inspection/test procedures and revise process plans, finalize source inspection checklist, and coordinate review of nonconformance documentation and root cause/corrective action activities. Review AS9102 FAI documentation, and work with DCMA and other government quality assurance agencies. Collect and report Quality Metrics, review and approve new drawings, and support project managers during design, manufacturing readiness reviews, PDR, CDR, APQP, PPAP, DFMEA, PFMEA, and supplier surveillance audits. Basis Qualifications
Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree with 4-8 years of prior relevant work experience or a Master’s degree with 2-6 years of prior relevant work experience. In lieu of a degree a High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of 10 years of experience in an ISO9001/AS9100 system or equivalent experience in DOD, Aerospace, or Automotive manufacturing quality control. Working knowledge of IPC-A-610 and IPC-J-STD-001. Experience with non-conforming material, failure analysis, root cause identification and corrective action. Experience writing procedures, reviewing work instructions for accuracy and completeness and implementing QMS documentation related to AS9100. Ability to review and interpret contract quality clauses and technical data; ability to develop and document quality verification procedures, plans, and work instructions, including AS9102 First Article Inspection documentation. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. Proven ability to communicate effectively within a team and in a collaborative engineering environment with multi-disciplinary teams. Must be a resident of North Alabama or willing to relocate to the area. Candidate must be able to obtain/maintain a final secret clearance. Preferred Qualifications
Experience using Microsoft Windows and Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Knowledge of Systems Engineering. Experience with Assembly integration and Testing.
