Support maintenance technicians in diagnosing and repairing equipment and building repairs not limited to roofing, wall repair, siding, window repair or replacement. Participate in scheduled preventive maintenance tasks to ensure equipment operates efficiently. Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while performing maintenance tasks and using tools, including but not limited to Food Safety Guidelines. Assist in conducting inspections of machinery and systems to identify issues or maintenance needs. Help maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections. Assist in organizing and maintaining tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working order. Engage in training programs to learn about maintenance practices, safety procedures, and relevant technologies. Developing a mindset of continuous improvement throughout the organization. Encouraging employee engagement and collaboration. Understand the core principles of Lean and identify and eliminate waste in processes. Foster a culture of efficiency and accountability. Work alongside experienced maintenance staff to gain knowledge and skills while contributing to team efforts. Operate forklift, scissor lift, and yard lift. Fabrication and welding (ARC, TIG, MIG) of various stands and platforms, handrails, steps/stairs, conveyors, and drivers. General housekeeping ensuring area is thoroughly cleaned upon maintenance completion. Troubleshooting. Participate in lean events & practices. Learning how to operate bean room equipment & setup/teardown. Other duties as assigned. Willingness to listen & learn, basic mechanical aptitude. Willingness to work in various environments & conditions. Basic communication skills for reporting issues & following instructions. Must have basic knowledge and skills in mechanical and building maintenance. Must have own tools. Must be able to read prints and manuals. This job may include any maintenance job in the plant. Must be willing to work hours required to complete tasks. Flexibility to work different shifts, nights and weekends. Basic knowledge of electrical. Must be able to lift 100 lbs. Must be reliable, punctual, and have good attendance. Demonstrate safety and proper use of tools and equipment. Work in a team environment. Physical Requirements
STANDING – about 6 hours per shift, with around 2 hours walking and around 2 hours sitting. PACE OF JOB – pace set by conveyor line. LIFTING – maximum about 60 lbs.; typical around 30 lbs.; lifting frequency ~400 times per hour. TWISTING – while carrying heavy loads, about 200-225 times per hour for ~4 hours per shift. PUSH/PULL – about 30 lbs. average weight; ~4 hours per shift. HAND/WRIST use with repetitive movements. ELBOWS and SHOULDERS used during stacking portions of the job. KNEES – squatting required for ~1 hour per shift. CLIMBING – minimal, 1-2 foot climbs a few times per shift. WALKING DISTANCE – ~2 miles per shift. VISION – 20/40 or better; COLOR VISION – normal; HEARING – hearing better than 40 Db in at least one ear. Food Safety Duties / Requirements
