Overview
Position Purpose: Operate and maintain the equipment in a water treatment facility to purify water, which may include removing solids from the water and domestic and industrial pollutants; resulting in returning clean water and air back to the environment and biosolids to the appropriate containment.

Responsibilities
Perform job duties in a safe manner compliant with policies, procedures and practices.
Model professional behavior; report to work as scheduled, on time and prepared to work.
Work flexible schedule that may include nights, weekends and holidays; 12 hour rotating shifts; holidays and rotating weekends.
Conduct laboratory analytical testing for product quality assurance/control and routine tests.
Operate, maintain, install and repair equipment including pumps, valves, gates, mixers, chemical feed, dust collector and odor control systems.
Monitor control panels, adjust valves and gates; monitor flow meters, gauges, flow ratios, pressures and related controls.
Document operating conditions/observations and data in shift log daily; diagnose basic operational problems and take corrective action per procedure.
Verify and report suspected malfunctions and variances to supervisor or designee and take corrective actions.
Work independently in compliance with given instructions and direction; perform grab-and-go field tests to adjust chemical dosages.
Comply with appearance, dress policies and wear PPE as defined by policy and customer.
Maintain a safe, neat and clean work environment and work effectively in a team environment.
Commitment to promoting safety culture and positive work environment; perform other duties as needed.
Qualifications
Education/Experience:
High School Diploma/GED required; one year of work experience.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Able to work effectively in diverse, dynamic teams; strong written and verbal communication; basic math; proficient with PC, email and word processing; ability to pass drug screens, safety-sensitive background check; attention to detail; ability to learn and independently operate equipment.
Ability to operate equipment such as pumps, engines, valves, mixers, conveyors, control devices and testing equipment.
Read and comprehend instructions in English.
Valid Driver's License maintained throughout employment.
Physical Requirements
Wear PPE including gloves, respirators, safety glasses, foot protection and hard hat.
Lift, push, pull up to 50 lbs; up to 100 lbs with assistance; sit, stand, walk, climb ladders; reach, bend, kneel, crawl as needed.
Work in loud, cold, hot, wet and dry environments; industrial setting with heights up to 25 feet; hear safety alarms.
Required Certifications/Licenses/Training
Valid Driver's License.
