Overview
Night Shift General Plant Maintenance Mechanic at Vulcan Materials Company. The role involves supporting safe and reliable operation of the plant, performing maintenance on plant and mobile equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety and production standards. Responsibilities
Promote safety and follow MSHA and Vulcan standards in all activities. Repair and maintain plant equipment, including screen changes, conveyor belt repair and adjustment, wear parts replacement, crusher liner changes, and water pump service; perform cutting, grinding, and welding as needed. Repair and maintain mobile equipment; perform minor repairs to front end wheel loaders and skid steers (hydraulic hoses, bucket cutting edges, other repairs) and conduct PM services (lubrication and sampling) on a scheduled basis. Inspect equipment and structures daily to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant operations to maximize production and minimize interruptions. Monitor plant processes and materials, including crushing, washing, and screening areas, to identify problems and ensure safety and materials compliance. Document and record information by entering and maintaining service and lubrication reports for preventative maintenance. Perform general physical activities to assist plant operations, including cleaning, washing, sweeping, and shoveling materials. Assist in railcar unloading as needed, including operating rail car mover, air actuated gates, monitoring unloading equipment, and setting rail car handbrakes. Qualifications
Previous experience in the aggregate or construction industry is preferred. Knowledge of general principles and practices of industrial maintenance, construction, or aggregate production is preferred. Flexibility to work overtime and extended hours as demanded by customers and company needs; ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and tolerate loud noises.
