Responsibilities
Promote Safety.
Take an active role in prioritizing safety throughout the operation for yourself and others in accordance with MSHA and Vulcan standards.
Repair and Maintain Plant Equipment.
Perform repairs and maintenance throughout the plant including screen changes, conveyor belt repair and adjustment, wear parts replacement, crusher liner changes, and water pump service. Perform cutting, grinding, and welding as needed.
Repair and Maintain Mobile Equipment.
Perform minor repairs to front end wheel loaders and skid steers including hydraulic hoses, bucket cutting edges, and other miscellaneous repairs to maintain safe operation. Perform PM services on mobile equipment on a scheduled basis including lube services and sampling.
Inspect Equipment and Structures.
Perform daily inspections and maintenance of the plant equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant operations to maximize production and minimize interruptions.
Monitor Processes and Materials.
Monitor and review the plant, specifically various aggregate crushing, washing, and screening areas to identify problems and ensure safety and materials compliance.
Document and Record Information.
Enter and maintain service and lubrication reports regarding the plant equipment to ensure preventative maintenance is up to date.
Perform General Physical Activities.
Perform a variety of tasks to assist with plant operations, including cleaning, washing, sweeping, and shoveling materials.
Railcar Unloading.
Assist in the rail unloading process as needed, including operating the rail car mover, operating air actuated gates, monitoring unloading equipment, and setting rail car handbrakes.
Additional Responsibilities.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Skills You'll Need :
Experience.
Previous experience in the aggregate or construction industry is preferred.
Knowledge of Best Practices.
Knowledge of general principles and practices of industrial maintenance, construction, or aggregate production is preferred.
Flexibility.
Must be able to work overtime and extended hours depending on customer and company demands. Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions and tolerate loud noises.
Mechanical Skills.
Must have some knowledge of industrial tools, their uses, and maintenance.

Hourly Range.
The hourly range for this role is between $22.44 - $29.04. This range is not inclusive of discretionary bonuses or equity. When determining compensation, factors include skillset, experience, job scope, and current market data.
