We have a talented team of Engineers, Designers, and Technicians, along with a new state-of-the-art R&D laboratory. Our focus is on new condensing boiler and heat pump water heater technology and the continued growth and success of our organization. We are seeking a Mid-Level NPD Engineer to join our engineering team focused on the design, development, and optimization of commercial heating systems. This role is ideal for an engineer with a solid foundation in mechanical engineering, design and control systems who is passionate about applying engineering principles to energy-efficient, high-performance heating solutions. Responsibilities
Design and Integration:
Develop and integrate mechanical subsystems into commercial platforms (e.g., control valves, ignition systems, pumps, sensors). Design/architect heating system control and logic, including combustion control and safety systems. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (mechanical, electrical, software, and manufacturing) to ensure seamless system integration.
Prototyping and Testing:
Build and test prototypes for new features and components. Develop test plans and procedures to validate system performance, safety, and compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., ASME, UL, CSA).
Documentation and Compliance:
Prepare technical documentation including schematics, PID’s, control logic flowcharts, technical drawings and test reports. Ensure designs meet industry codes, efficiency standards, and environmental regulations.
Continuous Improvement:
Contribute to the continuous improvement of existing boiler platforms through cost reduction, reliability enhancement, and energy efficiency initiatives.
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. 5–8 years of relevant engineering experience, preferably in HVAC, thermal systems, or industrial equipment. Experience with combustion systems, gas flow regulation, or boiler certification processes. Familiarity with CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks). Working knowledge of safety standards and codes. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to meet physical requirements, such as standing, bending, and lifting up to 40 lbs.
Preferred:
Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Experience with PLC programming, microcontrollers, DAQ systems. Familiarity with design for manufacturability (DFM) and root cause analysis (RCA). Familiarity with Heat pump and/or chiller applications. Familiarity with Commercial boilers
