Marine Services Company seeking a Technician to join our team. This position is suited to candidates who are seeking a hands on marine engineering role based out of Ft Lauderdale.
What is a marine technician? Marine technicians are versatile mechanics trained to tackle the repair and installation of a variety of mechanical and propulsion systems onboard vessels. Once trained, successful technicians are prepared to make repairs ranging from engines, propulsion and mechanical systems of many kinds.
Job Responsibilities
Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and propulsion issues onboard yachts and boats, often in space-restricted environments
Performing preventative technical maintenance tasks
Fabricating materials to effectively make repairs when the situation calls for it
Thinking on your feet to solve problems in the field, sometimes with limited resources
Working with teammates to accomplish customer and company goals
Requirements for this role include:
A desire to work on and around boats, and the ocean in general
Verifiable mechanical or electrical skills with demonstrable hands‑on experience
Strong communication skills and high integrity
A desire to learn about new mechanical systems
An operable vehicle and valid driver’s license
Ability to move in and around small spaces, and lift up to 50 lbs when necessary
