Mechanical Estimator
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Estimator to be responsible for providing detailed estimates based upon conceptual documents as well as schematic, design development and construction documents.
The Mechanical Estimator will be responsible for all take-offs, pricing and producing the final estimate to be incorporated into the final work product. The individual will also meet with customers to evaluate new projects and develop onsite solutions with the project team.
Base Pay Range:
$90,000.00/yr - $110,000.00/yr
Responsibilities
Responsible for assigned estimates.
Reviews vendor equipment submittals for accuracy and quality of products.
Prices change orders submitted by project managers.
Coordinates with Director of Preconstruction on final proposals.
Perform take-offs as needed for piping, sheet metal, and project required material.
Evaluate and identify project logistics & incorporate required costs into estimate.
Attend jobsite walk throughs as needed for upcoming project bids.
Evaluate proposals of equipment and project material that are acceptable per project specifications.
Promote and participate in education and training opportunities that allow the company and its employees to meet stated goals, objectives, and business plans.
Develop mechanical solutions based on customer needs.
Participate in trade/business associations that enhance the company’s mission or business plan.
Qualifications
A minimum of 5 years’ trade experience.
In-depth knowledge of HVAC&R systems and related supporting utilities.
Experience with Estimating MEP Software by Trimble.
Ability to read and understand plans & specifications.
Knowledge of local and industry codes that regulate the HVAC&R industry.
Good verbal and written communications skills.
Computer Skills: Excel, Microsoft Projects.
