Principal/Embedded Software Engineer (SkillBridge) – R10206400 at Northrop Grumman. The DoD SkillBridge eligibility requirements include: served at least 180 days on active duty; within 12 months of separation or retirement; will receive an honorable discharge; completed ethics brief within the last 12 months; and have written authorization from the Unit Commander to participate in the SkillBridge program prior to start of internship. You will work within a multi-discipline engineering team to define and architect a secured missile weapon system, collaborating with team members across projects and with external partners and customers. For Embedded Software Engineer Level (T02): Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM field with 2 years of Computer/Software Engineering experience, or Master’s with 0 years experience. Self-starter and able to work in a team environment. Experience with one or more languages/technologies: C/C++, Java, Python, C#. Experience with full software lifecycle: specification, design, implementation, integration, debug, maintenance. Experience in embedded software development. Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance; U.S. citizenship required. At least one year of experience in an Agile team. Meets DoD SkillBridge qualifications per DODI 1322.29. For Principal Embedded Software Engineer Level (T03): Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM field with 5 years of experience, or Master’s with 3 years of experience. Self-starter and able to operate in a team environment. Experience with one or more languages/technologies: C/C++, Java, Python, C#. Experience with full software lifecycle: specification, design, implementation, integration, debug, maintenance. Experience in embedded software development. Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance; U.S. citizenship required. At least one year of experience in an Agile team. Meets DoD SkillBridge qualifications per DODI 1322.29. Experience with Git or similar version control tools. Experience in embedded systems design with preemptive, multitasking RTOS. Experience with embedded C++ optimization and tools such as VxWorks. Hands-on hardware integration and testing experience. Ability to debug complex integrated applications or test setups. Experience using Atlassian tools: JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket, SonarQube. Primary Level Salary Range: $89,400.00 – $165,500.00. Salary ranges are guidelines and may vary based on scope, responsibilities, experience, and market conditions. Eligible employees may receive overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus. Long-Term Incentives may be available for certain roles.
