Plan and design assigned projects by supervising the design efforts of junior engineers and coordinating with other design disciplines to develop project deliverables. Engage in projects including intersection and interchange design, new roadway alignments, roadway widenings, interstate design, and pedestrian and bicycle facilities design. Manage project development, including coordination with clients and subconsultants, and design of horizontal and vertical alignments, roadway plans and profiles, roadside evaluation and design, maintenance of traffic design, construction plans, specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports. Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program; master’s degree preferred. Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Virginia or ability to obtain within six months through a comity from another state. 16+ years of progressive highway engineering experience, including experience with VDOT. Strong oral and written communication skills at all organizational levels. Ability to work independently and as part of a team; ability to manage multiple assignments. Experience with design software tools such as MicroStation, OpenRoads, and AutoCAD preferred. Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Benefits
