Position Overview The Forklift Mechanic will be responsible for the preventative maintenance and emergency repair of all forklifts at all TAS facilities. In addition, the Forklift Mechanic will assist other Maintenance Mechanics with the repairs of other equipment, such as scissor lifts, boom lifts, and other material handling equipment.
Key Job Responsibilities
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair forklifts and other equipment.
Ensure proper preventative maintenance is performed in a timely manner.
Read and comprehend technical manuals.
Operate lift trucks and equipment as required.
Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, and Company policies.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Perform other duties as assigned by TAS.
Job Skills
Ability to work independently without constant supervision.
Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
Maintain professional and respectful relationships with internal and external customers.
Proactively plan assigned tasks to reduce equipment downtime.
Education & Training
High School Diploma or GED.
Minimum Requirements
Forklift Certification.
3+ years of experience with forklift repairs.
Possess a clean and valid driver’s license.
Must have basic mechanic hand tools necessary to complete required responsibilities.
Physical Requirements / Work Environment
Work performed in a shop environment.
Requires normal vision and absence of color blindness.
Physical effort equal to frequent moving of up to 50 lbs of materials.
Regularly required to sit or stand, bend, and reach.
Use of safety glasses and hard hat required; earplugs recommended.
Ability to stand up to 10 hours a day, 6 days a week.
Work in a non-air‑conditioned environment.
Steel-toe boots required in manufacturing facilities.
