Salary Range: $87k+/year | Shift: 3rd shift
A leading food manufacturer is seeking an experienced
Maintenance Supervisor
to lead a maintenance team in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of production equipment. This role involves supervising maintenance personnel, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems (including PLC‑controlled equipment), managing work orders, maintaining parts inventories, and ensuring compliance with all safety and food safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and lead:
Direct the daily activities of maintenance leads and technicians to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
Equipment maintenance:
Oversee installation, repair, and preventive maintenance of plant production equipment to minimize downtime.
Troubleshooting:
Apply electrical and mechanical expertise to diagnose and repair equipment issues involving PLC controls, electrical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical components.
Work order management:
Manage and track maintenance tasks through a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) and ensure timely completion of work orders.
Safety and compliance:
Enforce strict adherence to OSHA, company, and food industry standards including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), GMPs, and food safety regulations.
Inventory control:
Maintain spare parts inventories and manage procurement needs.
Continuous improvement:
Identify and implement opportunities to improve maintenance efficiency, reliability, and team performance.
Required Qualifications
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a technical or vocational field (or equivalent experience).
Proven experience in industrial maintenance, ideally within a food manufacturing or production environment.
Strong working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and PLC‑controlled systems.
Excellent troubleshooting, leadership, and organizational skills.
Proficiency in maintenance tracking or CMMS software.
Physical Demands
Must be able to physically perform the functions of climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
Must be able to work seated using a computer and phone for long periods of time.
Must be able to work extended hours, such as daily overtime and an occasional weekend.
Must possess visual acuity to document company records.
Continuous walking throughout the plant.
Lift up to 50 pounds.
