Oncology is a 24 bed all private unit that is devoted to holistic care of cancer patients and their families. This challenging environment provides for development of critical thinking skills and head-to-toe assessments, including the care and administration of chemotherapy, pain management, and specialized cancer care. A basic understanding of dysrhythmias is required for oncology patients who may require cardiac monitoring. A multi- disciplinary team of doctors, nurses, dietitians, social workers, and massage therapists provide support to the oncology patients. New Graduate Nurses are welcome. Job Duties
Oncology Nurse assesses and identifies patient needs and implements appropriate interventions. The Nurse establishes and maintains a plan for the delivery of nursing care; assures that nursing care interventions and activities are directed to resolve problems; and performs technical aspects of care competently. Oncology nurses must have strong critical thinking skills while providing compassionate care. The Oncology nurse also acts as a family and patient resource to guide them through all stages of the patient\'s cancer journey. Minimum Education, Training, and Experience
Active Kentucky RN License BCLS required Chemo/ONS certification required within 6 months Work Experience
