Job Description:
Oncology is a 24-bed all-private unit dedicated to the holistic care of cancer patients and their families. This challenging environment fosters the development of critical thinking skills and comprehensive head-to-toe assessments, including the care and administration of chemotherapy, pain management, and specialized cancer treatments. A basic understanding of dysrhythmias is required for patients who may need cardiac monitoring. A multidisciplinary team of doctors, nurses, dietitians, social workers, and massage therapists provides support to oncology patients. New Graduate Nurses are welcome. Job Duties:
The Oncology Nurse assesses patient needs and implements appropriate interventions. They establish and maintain a plan for nursing care, ensuring interventions address patient problems, and perform technical care competently. Oncology nurses must possess strong critical thinking skills while providing compassionate care. Additionally, the Oncology Nurse acts as a resource for patients and their families, guiding them through all stages of the cancer journey. Minimum Education, Training, and Experience:
