This externship provides hands-on experience in emergency medicine, working alongside credentialed veterinary technicians. Responsibilities include obtaining patient vitals, processing lab samples, caring for hospitalized patients, triaging cases, and collaborating in a fast-paced environment. Note: This is an unpaid externship; rabies vaccinations are required unless your school's policy allows handling unvaccinated pets without vaccination. Flexibility: You choose the externship duration to meet your school's requirements. Location: You select the preferred hospital location (subject to availability). Mentorship: Supported by a credentialed veterinary technician. Focus: Fully immersed in emergency medicine. Requirements: Enrolled in an AVMA-accredited veterinary technology or nursing program (or actively seeking accreditation), with a need for externship hours or skills. This program is for veterinary technology or nursing students only. Externship must start within 6 months of application. Rabies vaccination required unless your school's policy allows handling unvaccinated animals without vaccination. Additional Details
