The Ohio State University College of Dentistry is seeking a
Dental Assistant 2
for its Endodontic Division to join the patient care team. Endodontic Division faculty, dental students and staff are trained in the use of advanced technologies, such as digital imaging, operating microscopes and ultrasonic tools for diagnosing and treating oral and facial pain, and problems inside the tooth. The college's Dental Assistant for Endodontics supports patient treatment and dental student education in the Endodontic Division, Pre-Doctoral Clinic and Dental Emergency Clinic; prepares and maintains instruments and supports clinical activities; serves as chair-side dental assistant performing four-hand chair-side dental assisting and radiography; may back-up surgical assistant in Graduate Endodontics Clinic; maintains and troubleshoots dental equipment; may order general supplies for clinic. Responsibilities
Provide support of patient treatment and dental student education in the Endodontic Division, Pre-Doctoral Clinic and Dental Emergency Clinic. Prepare and maintain instruments and clinical activities; serve as chair-side dental assistant performing four-hand chair-side dental assisting and radiography. Back-up surgical assistant in Graduate Endodontics Clinic; maintain and troubleshoot dental equipment; may order general supplies for clinic. Maintain and troubleshoot dental equipment; may order general supplies for clinic. Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Position Requirements
This position requires successful completion of a criminal background check and drug and alcohol screening. High school diploma/GED; 1 year of relevant experience. Must be registered with the Ohio Dental Board as a Dental Assistant Radiographer. Must pass health standards and requirements prior to appointment (e.g., hepatitis, vaccination series, TB test). Desirable: 2-4 years of relevant experience; knowledge of endodontic instruments; education setting experience; computer literacy (Microsoft Office and internet/email). Other: manual dexterity; color vision; ability to sit and stand for durations; exposure to bloodborne pathogens, chemical hazards, vibrating equipment, use of sharp instruments, and latex.
