This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Springhill on a full-time basis.
The Role:
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be primarily responsible for floor support to operations and maintenance, designing and optimizing manufacturing and assembly processes, developing equipment and tooling solutions, and establishing efficient operational sequences. Your work will focus on maximizing the effective use of personnel, materials, machinery, and facilities to produce engine assemblies. This role is based in an assembly plant environment and requires creativity, initiative, and a high degree of independent judgment.
What You'll Do (Responsibilities):
Define and develop manufacturing and assembly processes
Establish and optimize the sequence of operations
Integrate ergonomic considerations into process design
Ensure efficient material flow throughout production
Drive continuous improvement of equipment and tooling
Participate in the TIP process to support operational enhancements
Collaborate with Business Plan Deployment (BPD) teams and coordinate engineering activities to achieve business objectives
Troubleshoot equipment and processes by analyzing production data and conducting root cause analysis
Provide technical guidance and oversight to external vendors
Offer technical direction to maintenance and operations teams
Develop and test advanced process technologies
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):
Bachelor's degree in engineering or 3 years of experience
Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime & weekends, off-shift production support, and on-call assignments (when necessary)
In-depth knowledge and experience in process engineering principles and practices
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaborative problem-solving
Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects independently, with accountability for results
Demonstrated initiative, including proactively improving processes and supporting team members
Familiarity with PFMEA’s and Control Plans
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Inventor, NX and interpreting part/machine prints
Preferred Skills:
Experience with Team Center and Part Finder drawing management systems
Familiarity with Maximo maintenance management system
Understanding of engine functions such as crank cam timing, oil pressure, engine torque, and ignition systems
Strong grasp of statistical methods for process control
Knowledge of Quality Systems
Hands‑on experience with engine assembly processes, including;
Leak testing (pressure decay, vacuum, helium)
Automated and manual engine assembly and part feeding systems
Automated and manual fastening equipment and torque control (Apex, Atlas Copco, Bosch)
Press processes (Kistler, Promess)
Engine testing (Bauer)
