Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail‑oriented and analytical Production Planner to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining production schedules to ensure on‑time delivery of products while optimizing inventory levels and manufacturing efficiency. You will be a crucial link between Sales, Procurement, and Manufacturing, playing a key role in our supply chain success.
Key Responsibilities
Production Scheduling:
Create, maintain, and communicate feasible master production schedules and daily/weekly production plans based on sales forecasts, customer orders, and capacity.
Capacity Planning:
Analyze plant capacity and resource availability (machines, labor) to balance the production load and identify potential bottlenecks.
Material Coordination:
Work closely with the Procurement team to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components to support the production schedule. Generate and manage material requirements plans (MRP).
Inventory Management:
Monitor and control finished goods and work‑in‑progress (WIP) inventory levels to meet target goals and prevent stock‑outs or excess inventory.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration:
Serve as the primary liaison between Manufacturing, Sales, Procurement, and Warehouse teams to communicate schedule changes, resolve issues, and ensure alignment.
Performance Monitoring:
Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as On‑Time Delivery, Schedule Attainment, and Inventory Turns. Report on production progress and any deviations from the plan.
System Management:
Utilize the company’s ERP/MRP system (e.g., SAP, Oracle) to maintain accurate data, including BOMs, lead times, and inventory records.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify opportunities for process improvements in planning and inventory management to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
Qualifications and Skills
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience above 3 years as a Production Planner, Scheduling Specialist, or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
Solid understanding of production planning and inventory control principles (e.g., MPS, MRP, Capacity Planning).
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a data‑driven approach.
Proficiency in MS Office, particularly advanced Excel skills (PivotTables, VLOOKUPs, Charts).
Experience with ERP/MRP systems.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across different departments.
Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
Preferred:
APICS CPIM or CSCP certification is a strong plus.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
Experience in a specific industry relevant to our company (e.g., discrete manufacturing, process industry).
