Staff Supplier Industrialization Engineer, Brake Systems — drive best-in-class product quality throughout the development process. This high-visibility role requires technical expertise, strong collaboration, and the ability to perform in a fast-paced environment. Lucid Motors’s Corporate Supplier Industrialization team accelerates the industrialization of innovative products. The Senior/Staff Supplier Industrialization Engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams and suppliers to balance design innovation with robust manufacturing for optimal quality. What you will do
Develop, manage, and improve the APQP process with suppliers from the initial design stage through PPAP submission and start of mass production. Lead design reviews and ensure manufacturing needs (DFM/A) for Chassis Brakes Systems are considered in the design phase with clear quality expectations. Drive and track all Tier 1/2 supplier Engineering Design Change activities. Collaborate cross-functionally with Design Engineering, Purchasing, New Projects Implementation, Plant level Manufacturing, Incoming Quality, Material Planning and Plant SQEs to ensure proper development of brake components and protection of Lucid plants and final customers. Perform supplier assessments, audits, and site inspections; develop process improvement plans and drive implementation; monitor and maintain performance metrics. Travel 25–75% on average, on short notice, to Lucid Motors and supplier sites globally (as required). Document processes and ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and AIAG/IATF16949 standards. Analyze data from suppliers and assembly plants to assess capability to meet requirements for builds. What we look for
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Materials, or Industrial Engineering. Minimum 8 years in high-volume manufacturing or assembly environments within Supplier Quality, Quality Engineering, R&D, or Manufacturing Engineering; automotive experience preferred. At least 6 years of hands-on APQP and PPAP project management. Proficiency in reading schematics/drawings; knowledge of chassis quality standards and specifications. Understanding of product quality lifecycle stages and quality gates. Strong analytical skills, technical writing, and mastery of quality tools (IATF 16949, APQP, PPAP, SPC, MSA, FMEA, DOE, DFM/A, GD&T). Certification preferred (ASQ, Six Sigma Black Belt, etc.). Proven ability to collaborate, leverage data, and innovate solutions; adaptable with strong problem-solving orientation. Excellent verbal and written communication with a focus on timely delivery.
