We are seeking a Staff Supplier Industrialization Engineer - Brakes Systems to drive best-in-class product quality throughout the development process. This high-visibility role requires technical expertise, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to excel in a fast-paced environment. Our Corporate Supplier Industrialization team enables rapid industrialization of innovative products. The Senior Supplier Industrialization Engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams and suppliers to balance design innovation with robust manufacturing for optimal quality. To succeed, you must possess deep technical expertise in implementing quality and reliability best practices, driving innovation, and ensuring product validation. The ideal candidate is proactive, determined, and has a proven track record in quality program management, preferably within the automotive industry.

Job Description

The Staff Supplier Industrialization Engineer selected for this position will play a key role in developing and industrializing Brakes Systems at supplier sites to ensure the success of Lucid programs. Experience with Brakes components such as: Brake Calipers Brake Rotors Electronic Parking Brakes Brake Lines Brake Jounce Hoses iBoosters ESP Modules Brake Pedals and knowledge of processes such as casting, heat treatment, machining, coating, extrusion, bending, welding, and general assembly.

Responsibilities

Develop, manage, and improve the APQP process with suppliers from the initial design stage through PPAP submission and the start of mass production. Lead design reviews and ensure manufacturing needs (DFM/A) for Chassis Brakes Systems are considered in the design phase with proper quality expectations defined. Drive and track all Tier suppliers responsible for Engineering Design Change activities. Work cross-functionally with Design Engineering, Purchasing, New Projects Implementation, Plant Manufacturing, Incoming Quality, Material Planning and Plant SQEs to ensure proper development of brake components and protection for Lucid plants and customers. Perform supplier assessments, audits and site inspections for sourcing; develop process improvement plans and drive implementation; monitor and maintain performance metrics. Travel 25-75% on average, on short-term or long-term basis to Lucid Motors and supplier sites globally on short notice. Document processes and ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and AIAG/IATF16949 standards. Analyze data from supplier and assembly plant builds to assess capability to meet requirements and complete builds.

You Bring

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Materials, or Industrial Engineering. Minimum 8 years of experience in high-volume manufacturing or assembly plant environments within Supplier Quality, Quality Engineering, R&D, or Manufacturing Engineering. Automotive experience preferred. At least 6 years of hands-on APQP and PPAP project management. Proficiency in reading and interpreting schematics and drawings. Knowledge of chassis quality standards and specifications. Understanding of product quality lifecycle stages and quality gates. Strong analytical, technical writing, and quality tool skills (IATF 16949, APQP, PPAP, SPC, MSA, FMEA, DOE, DFM/A, GD&T). Certification preferred (e.g., ASQ, Six Sigma Black Belt). Proven ability to collaborate, leverage data, and innovate solutions. Adaptability, a positive attitude, and strong problem-solving focus. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with focus on timely delivery.

Location and Onsite Requirement

Please note this role is 100% onsite in our Southfield, MI office. It will not offer a remote or hybrid option. You may be required to work onsite to mirror west coast hours, which would have you in the office until 7:30 pm EST.
