The Rad Tech II is responsible for operating radiographic equipment to perform diagnostic and other clinical exams as directed, and serves as a coach to student technologists. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH Mission, Vision, and Values.

Responsibilities
Performs radiologic and other requested examinations, determines technical and positioning factors, and positions patients accordingly.
Explains procedures to patients and addresses questions or concerns.
Collects specimens for drug screens, performs Blood Alcohol Tests, and CLIA-waived tests.
Performs patient intake activities, including vital signs recording.
Provides ongoing patient assessment, records findings, and reports accurately and promptly.
Assists in training and guiding less experienced staff, promoting professional practice.
Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, quality standards, policies, and procedures.
Manages resources efficiently, planning work to complete responsibilities effectively.
Demonstrates professional behavior and excellent customer service routinely.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Education:
Technical Degree or Diploma in Radiology
Experience:
1-3 years in Radiologic Technology
Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of training procedures for Rad Techs as determined by management.
Effective communication skills with internal and external customers.
Clinical competencies in radiography imaging equipment and procedures.
Licenses and Certifications
BASIC LIFE SUPPORT - American Heart Association
Registered Radiologic Technologist - ARRT
Medical Radiation Technologist - Mississippi State Department of Health
Radiologic Technologist - Arkansas Department of Health
Supervision
No supervisory or lead responsibilities, but may coach or guide less experienced Rad Techs.
Physical Demands
Activities include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motions.
Must have good balance and coordination.
Physical strength requirements: exerting up to 50 lbs. occasionally, 25 lbs. frequently.
Requires close visual acuity, color, depth perception, and field of vision.
Frequent patient contact, invasive and non-invasive.
