Senior CNC Machinist Needed in Camarillo - Aerospace Industry A reputable, long‑standing aerospace company in Camarillo seeks to hire a Senior CNC Machinist with Machine Shop experience. Position Overview We are seeking a
highly skilled Senior CNC Machinist/Programmer
to join our dynamic manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in CNC programming and a strong understanding of machining processes. Operating and program of CNC Mill & Lathes machines, with a strong expertise in Mastercam. This is a hands‑on role in a fast‑paced, aerospace environment.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, modify, and optimize CNC programs for milling and lathe operations.
Interpret complex engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical documentation.
Develop and optimize programs using Mastercam creating programs using 2D prints, solid models, and designing tooling/fixing if needed.
Program, set‑up, and operate CNC milling machines and lathes.
Conduct setup of CNC machines, including tooling adjustments based on job specifications.
Perform inspections using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and CMM.
Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to ensure optimal part production.
Troubleshoot machining issues and provide solutions to improve operational efficiency.
Mentor and train junior machinists and contribute to process improvements.
Other duties assigned by department manager.
Qualifications
5+ years of CNC machining experience, including programming from scratch.
Expertise in Mastercam, able to program lathes and 4‑axis mills.
Ability to inspect your own work using precision measurement tools.
Problem‑solving mindset with attention to detail and craftsmanship.
Proven experience in CNC programming with a strong background in manufacturing and machining environments.
In‑depth knowledge of mechanical principles, geometry, tooling, and blueprint reading.
Experience with precision measuring instruments.
