Maintenance Technician Location: CBRC Health & Fitness, Richland, WA
Department: Facilities / Maintenance
Reports To: Maintenance Manager
Status: Full-Time | Non-Exempt
About the Role We’re looking for a dependable, detail-oriented Maintenance Technician to keep our fitness club and its surrounding grounds in excellent condition for members and staff. This position ensures that all facility systems, fitness equipment, pools, and outdoor areas are safe, clean, and fully functional. If you take pride in maintaining a welcoming environment and solving problems before they happen, we’d love to have you on our team.
What You’ll Do
Inspect, maintain, and repair fitness equipment, locker rooms, pools, and common areas.
Perform routine preventive maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, lighting, and building systems.
Complete light carpentry, painting, drywall, and general building repairs to maintain facility appearance and function.
Maintain landscaping and outdoor areas, including mowing, trimming, irrigation checks, leaf removal, and general grounds upkeep.
Monitor pool and spa systems, including water chemistry and filtration, to meet health and safety standards.
Respond quickly to maintenance requests and emergency repairs throughout the facility.
Keep accurate records of maintenance work, inspections, and inventory.
Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs.
Maintain clean and organized maintenance and work areas.
Follow all safety guidelines and OSHA standards.
What We’re Looking For
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade school preferred.
2+ years of maintenance experience (fitness, hospitality, or recreation facility experience a plus).
Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
Experience with light carpentry, painting, and general building repair.
Experience with pool/spa systems and water chemistry preferred.
Basic irrigation system knowledge and safe use of landscape equipment.
Strong problem-solving and time management skills.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks such as climbing, bending, and standing for long periods.
Team-oriented positive attitude, teamwork mindset, and commitment to a clean, safe environment.
Full-time position; must be available for evenings, weekends, or holidays.
