Mechanical Designer/Drafter (Contract)
Actalent is seeking a Mechanical Designer/Drafter to join our Automation team in Romeoville, IL to design mechanisms for in‑house production. This is a contract opportunity (3–6 months, potentially longer) with flexibility and an excellent work environment.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with Project Engineers to support design and drafting work on projects.
Focus on mechanism and tooling design for custom automated equipment (primarily assembly or packaging).
Support different equipment components as needed.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience in mechanical design.
No degree required; an Associate's in CAD preferred.
Experience designing manufacturing mechanisms (not just a single part).
Experience with manual machining (mills, lathes, etc.) is highly helpful.
Tooling design experience.
SolidWorks experience is a plus, but open to any 3‑D CAD package.
Experience Level Intermediate Level
Job Type & Location Contract position based out of Romeoville, IL. Full onsite.
Pay & Benefits Pay range: $32.00–$38.00/hr.
