Louisiana LNG is located approximately 11 miles southwest of Lake Charles, Louisiana. The project includes a mid‑scale, mixed‑refrigerant Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) production and export facility on the west side of the Calcasieu River. There are five identical process plants. Each process plant consists of one gas pre‑treatment unit, one condensate stabilization unit, and four chart heavy hydrocarbon removal and liquefaction groups. The facility will include associated utilities, refrigerant storage, three 235,000 m 3
full‑containment LNG storage tanks, and three marine berths. Job Summary
Provide project field engineering expertise with work planning and packaging, material management, quantity verification and validation, safety and quality control, technical inspection and testing, and subcontract coordination. Ensure field engineering activities operate safely, are complete, and meet quality and project requirements. Major Responsibilities
Work Planning & Packaging
Prepare construction drawings and sketches. Facilitate planning of construction methods and procedures.
Material Management
Initiate requisitions for field purchases. Prepare quantity takeoffs of field purchased material and equipment.
Quantities
Verify commodities on quantity tracking systems or other computer database systems as required.
Safety / Quality Control
Ensure zero‑accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others.
Technical
Proactively consider continuous learning or pursue appropriate learning activities.
System Turnover Coordinator
Develop firm understanding of system and area scoping and drawings required for package development.
STR / Subcontract Coordinator
Review and approve inspection test plans. Coordinate reviews of subcontractor submittals.
Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) and 5–8 years of relevant experience or 9–12 years of relevant work experience. Required Knowledge and Skills
Technical knowledge of construction surveying, piping, hydrotesting, and welding. Experience with the piping discipline such as PCCP, HDPE, Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel, and Alloy piping. Demonstrated commitment to Environment, Safety and Health (ES&H). Demonstrated commitment to a Zero Accident safety program. Computer‑literate in word processing, spreadsheet, and Bechtel database applications. Familiar with current industry quality standards. Basic ability to utilize the TeamWorks automation suite as the Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs). Knowledge of Project Technical Requests (PTR) for routing and resolving Requests for Information (RFIs), Field Change Documents (FCDs), and Non Conformance/Compliance Reports (NCRs) between project sites, contractors, clients, and home office. Knowledge of work packaging. Basic understanding of production management including scheduling. Sound communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills. Basic knowledge of cost management including estimating and forecast development. Additional Information
Work requires the physical ability to conduct field inspections including but not limited to extensive walking in and around a construction site in high heat and high humidity conditions, climbing ladders and scaffolding, working on elevated platforms, working on uneven surfaces, and working in small or confined spaces. Some lifting may be required. Must be able to walk into and out of the project (enter/egress) and use appropriate standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) such as harness, life vest, lift buckets, etc. Total Rewards / Benefits
