Senior Structures Engineer
to join our Landing Systems Wheel and Brake Structures Team. You will be instrumental in designing, analyzing, and testing aircraft wheels and brakes for some of the most advanced aircraft in the world. You will have an opportunity to collaborate with a wide range of engineers in design, project, sustaining, customer support, and manufacturing. You will also interact with customers assisting in technical decisions for the products you are working on. Location

Security Clearance: None/Not Required Travel: Up to 5% domestically and internationally when circumstances permit What You Will Do
Perform strength, fatigue, and fracture analyses of aircraft wheel and brake components Construct and analyze finite element structural models using ANSYS software Perform preliminary sizing and detailed analysis of major structural components using classical hand analysis and FEA Assist with preliminary design trade studies Prepare instrumentation drawings for strain gage testing and analyze test results Prepare high quality detailed stress reports for customer review Review drawings with other company disciplines and provide structures input Define and analyze structural repairs for aircraft wheel and brake components Be responsible and accountable for all assigned stress tasks and their completion dates Ensure compliance to established engineering methodologies Lead methods development and technology development project activities Communicate analysis and results through technical presentations to internal and external customers Mentor less experienced structures engineers Willingness to travel up to 5% domestically and internationally when circumstances permit Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics STEM and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience Experience with an FEA (Finite Element Analysis) software Experience with 2D and/or 3D modeling software Experience writing technical reports Qualifications We Prefer
Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering Experience with Aerospace structures and/or components Experience with ANSYS or equivalent software Working Knowledge of NX or equivalent modeling software Experience with structural testing using strain gauges Good understanding of aerospace materials and manufacturing processes Knowledge of GD&T Ability to work autonomously or within a team environment What We Offer
