Aviation Engine Quality Control Inspector
MTU Maintenance Fort Worth
is hiring for an Aviation Engine Quality Control Inspector. The inspector reports to the Quality, Safety, Engineering Manager via the Lead Inspector. The role involves reviewing procedures, equipment, and systems on an engine to ensure compliance with federal safety regulations, examining maintenance records, and investigating incidents to determine causes.
Responsibilities
Maintain proper Part 65 certification for current assignment.
Oversee quality control processes to ensure maintenance and repair work meets standards in the Repair Station Quality Manual.
Conduct historical and AD/ASB research for customer engines.
Inspect engines, engine parts, sub-assemblies, and accessories in accordance with FAA-approved data; includes Receiving, In-Process, and Final Inspections.
Perform complete inspection of components, sub-assemblies, and assemblies using approved measuring instruments and inspection equipment.
Verify execution, inspection, and completion of work; ensure work scope instructions, quality and regulatory requirements are complied with.
Maintain proficiency with inspection aids, tools, and gages used for inspection of items.
Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, and parts replacements; complete logbooks accurately.
Ensure calibrated tools have current calibration and consumables are within shelf life and not expired.
Assist in investigations into incidents or discrepancies, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Ensure compliance with applicable 14 CFR parts and familiarity with inspection methods, techniques, and equipment used to determine airworthiness.
Maintain current knowledge of data contained in 14 CFR Parts 1, 43, 65, and 145, and understand applicable operator program requirements for maintenance.
Perform other duties as directed by the Quality, Safety, Engineering Manager, Chief Inspector, or Lead Inspector.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Demonstrated interpersonal skills in working and communicating effectively with all levels in the organization.
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
Problem-solving mindset and a proactive, creative approach to challenges.
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office, Web applications, and general technical data, including ESM, AMM, SBs.
Bachelor's degree in aviation or a related field preferred but not required. Previous experience in lieu of a degree is possible.
FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification preferred, Powerplant required.
Prior experience with engine maintenance, engine changes, engine inspections and module removal & installation required.
Must be able to sit at a desk and work on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times.
